On Wednesday, September 16, 2026 (local time), Google announced new features for “Search Profile,” a profile page for publishers and creators introduced across multiple Google platforms in the US, including the content curation service “Google Discover” and “Google Search.”
“Search Profiles” are profile pages on Google platforms that eligible publishers and creators can set up. While “Website Profile Pages” have also started rolling out on “Google Discover,” “Search Profiles” serve as an evolved version of these pages, consolidating and displaying the latest articles, videos, and social media posts published by creators and publishers.
“Search Profiles” can be accessed via the publisher or creator name displayed on content cards in “Google Discover” and “Google Search.” Previously, eligibility required a Google account meeting any of the following thresholds: 100,000+ subscribers on YouTube, 100,000+ followers on Instagram, 100,000+ followers on X, or 300,000+ followers on TikTok.
However, for publishers and creators who already have a “Knowledge Panel,” a “Search Profile” is automatically generated.
As a new feature for these “Search Profiles,” Google has introduced a multi-account management function that allows media organizations operating multiple brands to manage multiple “Search Profiles” from a single account. Media outlets with multiple publications can now access and edit each “Search Profile” without needing to switch accounts.
In addition, the display of article lists within “Search Profiles” has been improved. Image thumbnail rendering has been optimized, and the maximum display length for headlines has been increased to enhance readability.

Furthermore, the registration requirements for “Search Profiles” have been relaxed. Previously, users needed to meet criteria such as 100,000+ YouTube subscribers, 100,000+ Instagram followers, 100,000+ X followers, or 300,000+ TikTok followers. Now, anyone with 10,000 or more followers on any of these platforms can register for a “Search Profile.” That said, the feature remains exclusive to the United States for now.
