The “Fitbit Air,” a screenless wearable tracker officially announced by the Google-owned fitness tracker manufacturer Fitbit on Thursday, May 7, 2026, was finally released today, Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

The price of the “Fitbit Air” is 16,800 yen (tax included). It also comes with a 3-month free trial of “Google Health Premium,” priced at 1,580 yen per month, which officially launches on the same day as the “Fitbit Air” as a subscription service replacing “Fitbit Premium.”

Additionally, for “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” members, “Google Health Premium” is included as a semi-permanent free benefit.

“Fitbit Air”

The “Fitbit Air” is a screenless wearable tracker designed to make the most of the “Google Health Coach” (formerly “Personal Health Coach”), a health coaching feature powered by “Gemini.”

It consists of a screenless core unit equipped with an optical heart rate monitor, 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for SpO2 (blood oxygen) monitoring, skin temperature sensor, and vibration motor, all housed within interchangeable wristbands. It provides advanced fitness tracking, including 24/7 heart rate monitoring with AFib alerts, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and sleep stages and duration. The core unit weighs only 5.2g, with a total weight including the band of just 12g.

Because the “Fitbit Air” is a screenless design, tracked information can be viewed via the “Google Health” app (formerly the “Fitbit” app).

Three types of wristbands are available: the “Active Band” made from recycled materials, the “Performance Loop Band” made from sweat- and water-resistant silicone, and the classic “Premium Modern Band.” Each comes in multiple color variations.

The “Fitbit Air” supports up to one week of battery life on a full charge. It also features fast charging, providing a day’s worth of power in just 5 minutes.

While wearing the “Fitbit Air,” you can start fitness tracking from the “Google Health” app, or it will automatically detect the start of your workout. The automatic workout detection feature is designed to become more accurate and personalized the more you use it.

Furthermore, the “Fitbit Air” supports the highly anticipated feature of seamless device switching. For instance, you can use a “Google Pixel Watch” during the day and switch to the “Fitbit Air” for sleep tracking, enabling seamless management of multiple devices.

The “Fitbit Air” is compatible with Android devices running Android 11 or later, and iOS devices running iOS 16.4 or later. The official price is 16,800 yen (tax included).
