On Monday, September 21, 2026 local time, Google announced the 100% rollout of the “Notebook” voice chat feature, which was previously announced about a week prior on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as a new addition to the AI research tool “Gemini Notebook.”
The “Notebook” voice chat is a feature similar to “Gemini Live” and “Search Live” that enables real-time voice conversations with AI based on the sources uploaded to your “Notebook.” It allows you to dive deeper into your “Notebook” through a spoken dialogue with the AI.
Using the feature is simple: just tap the new voice chat icon located within the “Chat” tab of your “Notebook.” This “Notebook” voice chat supports approximately 100 languages, including Japanese.
The “Notebook” voice chat is initially rolling out for “Google AI Ultra” members on the Android and iOS versions of the “Gemini Notebook” app. Support for “Google AI Pro” and other memberships is planned to be added sequentially in the future.
