Google announced in “What’s new in Google Home”—its latest update published on Thursday, July 23, 2026 (local time) summarizing new features and improvements rolling out for the smart home service “Google Home”—that the “Google Home Mini” and the 1st-generation “Nest Hub” have been added to the list of devices supporting the intuitive conversational feature “Gemini Live.”
“Gemini Live” on “Google Home” can be used on compatible smart speakers and smart displays with the “Advanced” membership (2,000 yen per month, tax included) of the subscription service “Google Home Premium”. Previously, supported devices included the “Nest Mini,” “Nest Audio,” “Nest Hub,” “Nest Hub Max,” and the “Google Home” speaker.
However, the “Google Home Mini” smart speaker released in October 2017 and the 1st-generation “Nest Hub” smart display released in October 2018 have now been newly added as “Gemini Live” compatible devices. Unfortunately, the original 1st-generation “Google Home” speaker has not been added to the “Gemini Live” compatible device lineup.
