「What’s new in Google Home」2026年7月23日（水）公開

Google は現地時間 2026 年 7 月 23 日（木）、スマートホームサービス「Google Home」関連サービスに対して展開している新機能や改善をまとめた最新情報「What’s new in Google Home」を公開しました。

今回の「What’s new in Google Home」では、「Gemini for Home（早期アクセス）」向けの「Gemini Live」における対象スピーカー / ディスプレイの対応拡大や、会話の記憶時間を 15 分に延長する「Conversational Memory」の改善が実施されたほか、「Google Home」アプリでは「自動化」やスマートロックまわりの案内強化、カメラ関連の複数の不具合修正が行われています。

あわせて、Walmart 製「onn」カメラの新モデル 2 機種への対応も追加されました。

Gemini for Home (Early Access)

Voice Assistant

Gemini Live now available on additional speakers made by Google

• Gemini Live on 1st gen smart speakers and displays: Google Home Premium subscribers with 1st generation Google Home Mini and Google Nest Hub can now go live with Gemini for fluid, back-and-forth conversation. This joins existing Gemini Live support across Nest Mini, Nest Audio, Nest Hub, Nest Hub Max, and the newest Google Home Speaker.

Try saying:

• “Hey Google, let’s chat.”

Conversational memory improvements

• 15-Minute Conversational Memory: the conversational memory window across the entire Gemini for Home experience is now 15 minutes.  You can ask Gemini a follow-up question to a topic that was discussed during this window, and Gemini will understand the context.

Try saying:

• “Hey Google, turn on the kitchen lights.” … then a few minutes later say, “Hey Google, dim it to 50%.”

Automation

• Clearer automation saving guidance: We’ve added helpful alerts when saving automations with conditions but no starters, helping ensure your automations run successfully as expected.
• Expanded window covering controls: We’ve updated controls and labels for smart blinds and window coverings, making it simpler to set precise shade positions.

Smart Locks

• Clearer security action disclaimers: We’ve added reminders that if you remove a member or leave a home to clarify that smart lock passcodes for those users need to be manually changed or removed.

Bug, Reliability, and Performance Fixes

• Enhanced iOS Video Experience: We’ve lowered playback error rates and improved stream availability closer to real-time on iOS Google Home App.
• Seamless video playback resuming: We’ve fixed an issue where video feeds that had been in progress failed to resume properly after unlocking your phone.
• Improved app link navigation: We’ve fixed deep link navigation so opening device setup or settings links brings you directly to the correct screen.
• Fixed missing battery alerts: We’ve corrected an issue where full camera batteries were incorrectly reported as having zero hours remaining.

Nest Camera July 2026 Software Update

These bug fixes and performance improvements apply to Nest Cam Indoor (wired, 3rd gen), Nest Cam Outdoor (wired, 2nd gen), and Nest Doorbell (wired, 3rd gen). To ensure optimal system stability and the best possible experience, this update is being rolled out gradually to all users.

Support for New onn Cameras from Walmart: Outdoor Plug-In and Outdoor Floodlight Hardwired

We’re expanding our lineup of Gemini built-in cameras with two new Walmart onn cameras: the new onn Outdoor Camera Plug-In and onn Floodlight Camera Hardwired. These devices offer affordable and weather-resistant security options that integrate seamlessly into the Google Home ecosystem, providing features like 1080p HDR video and two-way talk. And with Google Home Premium you can unlock even more advanced features such as more detailed event descriptions (for example, “Robin drives toy car in garden” vs. Person seen), ability to search video history with Ask Home, daily Home Brief summaries and up to 60 days of extended video history so you never miss a moment. • More reliable connectivity: Improvements to help  cameras stay online with fewer unexpected drops or crashes.
• Smoother setup: Under-the-hood updates deliver a more reliable, consistent, and faster setup flow when adding new cameras to your home.
• Accurate Activity Zones: Fixed person and familiar face alerts  triggering inside ignored zones.
• Improved app reliability: Fixed issues where the app might freeze or display the incorrect camera online status.
• Camera settings: Fixed issues where camera settings were not applied when changed in the app.

「Gemini for Home（早期アクセス）」

「Gemini for Home（早期アクセス）」にて、対応スマートスピーカー / スマートディスプレイの拡大と会話の記憶機能の改善が行われます。

スピーカー / ディスプレイ対応拡大

「サブスクリプションサービス「Google Home Premium」の「Advanced」メンバーシップ向け直感的会話機能「Gemini Live」対応デバイスとして、新たに「Google Home Mini」と初代「Nest Hub」が追加されました。

これにより、既存の「Nest Mini」「Nest Audio」「Nest Hub」「Nest Hub Max」および最新モデル「Google Home スピーカー」に加え、「Google Home Mini」と初代「Nest Hub」でも、「Gemini Live」を利用できるようになっています。

会話の記憶機能の改善

「Gemini for Home」全体における会話の記憶時間（Conversational Memory）が 15 分に延長されます。

この 15 分以内であれば、直前の話題に関するフォローアップの質問をした際に、「Gemini」が文脈を理解した上で応答できるようになります。たとえば、“OK Google、キッチンの照明をつけて” と話しかけた数分後に、“明るさを 50% にして” と続けて話しかけるといった使い方が可能です。

「自動化」

「条件」を設定しているものの「トリガー」が未設定のまま「自動化」を保存しようとした場合に、意図通り動作するよう案内するアラートが表示されるようになります。

あわせて、スマートブラインドなど向けの操作画面やラベルが更新され、より細かい開閉位置を簡単に設定できるようになります。

スマートロック

メンバーの削除やホームからの退出を行った際、対象ユーザーのスマートロックのパスコードは手動での変更 / 削除が必要である旨を案内するリマインダーが追加されます。

不具合修正 / 安定性 / パフォーマンス改善

• iOS 版「Google Home」アプリにおける再生エラー率の低減、およびストリーミングのリアルタイム性向上
• デバイスのロック解除後に、視聴中だった映像フィードがうまく再開されない不具合の修正
• スマートホームデバイスのセットアップや設定画面へのディープリンクが正しい画面に遷移しない不具合の修正
• ネットワークカメラにおいて、満充電にもかかわらずバッテリー残量が「残り 0 時間」と誤表示される不具合の修正

「Nest Cam」2026 年 7 月版ソフトウェアアップデート

2026 年 7 月版ソフトウェアアップデートは、「Nest Cam Indoor（電源アダプター式 / 第 3 世代）」「Nest Cam Outdoor（電源アダプター式 / 第 2 世代）」「Nest Doorbell（有線、第 3 世代）」が対象です。

内容は不具合修正 / パフォーマンス改善で、段階的に展開されます。

Walmart 製「onn」カメラの新モデル 2 機種に対応

「Gemini」を内蔵したカメラのラインナップが拡大し、新たに Walmart 製の「onn Outdoor Camera Plug-In」と「onn Floodlight Camera Hardwired」の 2 機種に対応します。

これらのデバイスは、手ごろな価格でありながら耐候性を備えたセキュリティ製品で、1080p@HDR 映像や双方向通話などの機能を備え、「Google Home」エコシステムにシームレスに統合されます。また「Google Home Premium」を利用することで、より詳細なイベント説明（たとえば単に “人物を検知” と表示する代わりに “ロビンが庭でおもちゃの車を走らせています” のように表示）、「Ask Home」による録画履歴の検索、毎日届く「Home Brief」の要約、最大 60 日間の録画履歴の保存など、さらに高度な機能も利用できるようになります。

不具合修正 / パフォーマンス改善

• 予期しない接続切断やクラッシュを軽減し、カメラの接続をより安定させる改善
• 新しいカメラを追加する際のセットアップフローの信頼性 / 一貫性向上、および高速化
• 「アクティビティゾーン」で除外設定した範囲内で、人物検知や顔認証の通知が誤って発生する不具合の修正
• アプリがフリーズしたり、カメラのオンライン状態が誤って表示されたりする不具合の修正
• アプリ上でカメラの設定を変更しても反映されない不具合の修正
