On Thursday, August 27, 2026, Google announced the “Sleepy Blue”—a limited-edition collaboration model for the “Fitbit Air” screenless wearable tracker from its subsidiary fitness tracker brand, Fitbit, created in partnership with the wildly popular Pokémon game series app “Pokémon Sleep.” Pre-orders have officially begun on the official Google Store e-commerce site.

The limited-edition “Sleepy Blue” model of the “Fitbit Air” is priced at 19,800 yen (including tax) and is scheduled for release on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. While “Sleepy Blue” features a special blue-toned band inspired by “Pokémon Sleep” and a custom silk-printed label depicting a “Dozing Pikachu” on the strap, the core unit and its core features remain identical to the standard “Fitbit Air.”

The “Pokémon Sleep” app is a sleep-tracking game that combines rest and gameplay by having users place their smartphone by their pillow to measure sleep and collect various sleeping styles of Pokémon. Combined with the advanced sleep tracking features of the “Fitbit Air” and “Google Health,” it offers users a fun and healthy sleep experience.

By linking the “Pokémon Sleep” app with Android’s “Health Connect” or iOS’s “Apple Health,” the sleep data measured by the “Fitbit Air” will automatically sync to the “Pokémon Sleep” app, reflecting in your in-game progress.

“Fitbit Air”

The “Fitbit Air” is a screenless wearable tracker designed to make the most of the Gemini-powered health coach feature, formerly known as “Personal Health Coach” and now rebranded as “Google Health Coach”.

It consists of a screenless core unit equipped with an optical heart rate monitor, 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for blood oxygen (SpO2) monitoring, skin temperature sensor, and a vibration motor, paired with interchangeable wristbands that house the core. It delivers advanced fitness tracking including 24/7 heart rate monitoring with atrial fibrillation (AFib) alerts, blood oxygen (SpO2), resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and sleep stages and duration. The core unit weighs a mere 5.2g, with a total weight of just 12g including the band.

Because the “Fitbit Air” features a screenless design, all tracked information can be viewed via the “Google Health” app, formerly known as the “Fitbit” app.

The wristbands are available in three styles: the “Active Band” made from recycled materials, the sweat- and water-resistant silicone “Performance Loop Band,” and the classic “Premium Modern Band,” each offered in multiple color variations.

The “Fitbit Air” supports up to one week of battery life on a full charge. It also features fast charging, providing a full day’s worth of power in just 5 minutes.

While wearing the “Fitbit Air,” users can initiate workouts and start fitness tracking directly from the “Google Health” app, or let the device automatically detect when a workout begins. The automatic exercise detection feature becomes more accurate and personalized the more you use it.

Furthermore, the “Fitbit Air” supports long-awaited device switching. This allows for seamless switching between devices—for instance, wearing a “Google Pixel Watch” during the day and switching to the “Fitbit Air” at night.

The “Fitbit Air” is compatible with Android devices running Android 11 or later and iOS devices running iOS 16.4 or later. The standard retail price of the “Fitbit Air” is 16,800 yen (including tax).
