On Tuesday, June 30, 2026 (local time), following the preview at Google I/O 2026, Google officially introduced the personal AI agent “Gemini Spark” as part of a major update to the Gemini app for macOS.
“Gemini Spark” is a personal AI agent built on “Google Antigravity,” Google’s next-generation autonomous AI programming environment. It integrates with Google Workspace tools like Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets, allowing it to perform tasks in the background even when your computer is closed or your smartphone is locked. Specifically, it can automatically analyze your monthly credit card statements to detect wasteful spending, or consolidate meeting notes scattered across emails and chats into a Google Doc, while even drafting follow-up emails automatically.
Gemini Spark for the macOS Gemini app is being rolled out in an update released today. However, it remains available only as a beta for “Google AI Ultra” members in the United States.
Additionally, a remote task execution feature, which will allow users to assign multi-step tasks to the Gemini app on macOS from mobile devices, is expected to launch in the near future. Furthermore, Gemini Spark has added new support for integration with Google Keep and Google Tasks.
