On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, Google released “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1″—the first Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) update for the new-generation Android 17 OS scheduled for official release between May and June 2026—to Google Pixel devices enrolled in the pre-release Android OS trial program, the Android Beta Program.
This release of “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1” comes just one week after the final beta version, “Android 17 Beta 4,” was released on Thursday, April 16, 2026, for Google Pixel devices in the Android Beta Program as they prepare for the official launch of the next-generation Android 17 OS.
Notably, with this “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1,” the new-generation budget-friendly Google Pixel, the “Pixel 10a”—which launched internationally on Thursday, March 5, 2026, and in Japan on Tuesday, April 14, 2026—has been newly added to the Android Beta Program. This means that Pixel 10a users can now register for the Android Beta Program to gain early access to the latest beta versions of the Android OS.
