On Thursday, August 27, 2026 (local time), Neal Mohan (@nealmohan), CEO of Google’s video service “YouTube,” announced that global e-commerce giant Amazon is joining as a new partner in the “YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program,” which allows YouTube video creators to tag affiliate products in their videos.
This enables creators to directly tag and promote products sold on Amazon within their videos, and earn commissions on sales generated from them. However, Amazon’s participation in the “YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program” is currently limited to the United States.
In Japan, Rakuten Ichiba participates in the “YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program,” but domestic Amazon.co.jp is not currently participating. Future participation is anticipated.
