When applying for Rakuten Mobile online, some non-Japanese national customers who select Simple Mobile ID Verification may be unable to use their Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate as an ID document.

Customers Who Cannot Use Simple Mobile ID Verification

The address on your ID document may not match the address registered on its IC chip if any of the following apply:

• – Your address was not yet registered when your Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate was issued
• – You changed your address after your Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate was issued
• If the correct address is not registered on the IC chip, you will not be able to use Simple Mobile ID Verification.
