On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Google began rolling out its new-generation Android OS, “Android 17,” to a total of 21 Google Pixel devices running Android 16: Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Tablet, Fold, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold, and 10a.
In conjunction with the “Android 17” major update, the June 2026 version of the “Pixel Drop” feature update has also been announced. There are a total of 11 new features in the June 2026 “Pixel Drop,” though this total includes previously unveiled features such as “Gemini Omni.”
“Screen Reactions”

“Screen Reactions” is a feature that allows you to directly integrate selfie video footage into your screen recordings.
Because you can incorporate cropped selfie footage into your screen recording without the need for a green screen, it is perfect for creating reaction videos or tutorials. Note that “Screen Reactions” can be used when “Record entire screen” is selected in the Screen Recorder tool.
AI Video Generation: “Gemini Omni”
“Gemini Omni” is an AI video generation and editing feature integrated into the Gemini app.
It allows users to combine videos to create new clips or generate a “Custom AI Avatar” that resembles them. Please note that this is a feature for “Google AI Plus,” “Google AI Pro,” and “Google AI Ultra” members.
“Gemini” Music Generation

By sending prompts or uploading photos in the Gemini app, the system can generate original songs with lyrics in a specified style and tempo.
Note that this is a feature for “Google AI Plus,” “Google AI Pro,” and “Google AI Ultra” members.
Expansion of “Ask Photos”

“Ask Photos,” the Gemini-integrated feature within Google Photos, is expanding to the UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
“Ask Photos” is available on Google Pixel devices from the Pixel 6 onwards.
“Bubbles”

“Bubbles” is a multitasking feature that allows you to place any app as a bubble icon on the screen, enabling floating window usage.
You can pin up to 5 apps, such as browsers or calendar apps, as “Bubbles.”
Pixel 10a Adds Support for “Voice Translate”
The Pixel 10a now supports “Voice Translate,” a feature in the Google Phone app that translates the caller’s voice in real-time while preserving their original tone of voice.
However, “Voice Translate” on the Pixel 10a is currently limited to translations between English and German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Hindi. It does not currently support Japanese.
Snapchat Adds “Magic Cue”
The Snapchat app has been added to the list of apps supporting “Magic Cue,” an AI feature included in the Pixel 10 series.
Expansion of “Take a Message”
The “Take a Message” call screening feature in the Google Phone app, previously available in the US, has been expanded to multiple countries across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Additionally, a new feature allowing users to record and use custom “response messages” has been introduced. The rollout of “Take a Message” in Japan has already been confirmed.
“Call Screen” Launches in India
“Call Screen” for the Google Phone app has officially launched in India.
However, Call Screen in India is supported on Google Pixel devices from the Pixel 10 onwards, excluding the Pixel 10a.
Integration of Emergency Detection and Sharing
Emergency detection and emergency sharing features have been integrated. When “Pulse Stop Detection,” “Car Crash Detection,” or “Fall Detection” is triggered on a Google Pixel device or Google Pixel Watch (1, 2, 3, or 4), the device will now automatically notify pre-set emergency contacts.
Note that “Pulse Stop Detection” is supported on Google Pixel Watch 3 and 4; “Car Crash Detection” is supported on Pixel 4a and later, as well as Pixel Watch 2, 3, and 4; and “Fall Detection” is supported on all Google Pixel Watch generations.
Pixel 8a / 9a Supports “Quick Share / AirDrop” Interoperability
The Pixel 8a and 9a now support interoperability between the Android “Quick Share” feature and Apple’s “AirDrop.”
