On Monday, December 15, 2024, Google began rolling out a firmware update for the original “Pixel Buds Pro,” the Google Pixel Bluetooth earbuds released on Thursday, July 28, 2022. This is the first update in one year and two months, following the previous one in early October 2023.
This long-awaited firmware update for the original “Pixel Buds Pro” includes bug fixes and performance/security improvements. No new features have been added. The firmware version will be updated from the previous v5.9 to v5.11.
The firmware update for the original “Pixel Buds Pro” will be installed automatically if they are paired with an Android device running Android 6.0 or later and automatic updates are turned ON. If automatic updates are turned OFF, you can manually apply the update from the “Google Pixel Buds” app.
