On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, local time, Google announced a new “Olive” color option for the Google Pixel Bluetooth earbuds “Pixel Buds Pro 2,” alongside four new features scheduled to roll out in September 2026.
When originally announced, the “Pixel Buds Pro 2” were available in four colors: Porcelain (white), Hazel (dark green), Peony (pink), and Wintergreen (green). In August 2025, a new “Moonstone” color was added to replace Wintergreen. Now, Google is introducing yet another new color, “Olive.”
This time, “Olive” replaces “Moonstone,” bringing the total lineup to four color options: Porcelain, Olive, Peony, and Hazel.
Furthermore, Google announced four new features coming to the “Pixel Buds Pro 2”: “Dynamic ANC,” a powerful noise-canceling feature that corrects minor seal variations when worn; “Gemini Audio Control,” allowing users to issue device control commands to Gemini such as “OK Google, turn up the bass”; a sleep sync feature that automatically pauses playback, disables touch controls, and mutes notifications in sync with the sleep detection of the “Google Pixel Watch” series; and an advanced “Live Translate,” which activates real-time translation for over 70 languages with a simple earbud tap. The upgraded “Live Translate” even includes a feature where the Google Pixel device plays back the user’s conversation in the other person’s language.
These four new features for the “Pixel Buds Pro 2” are slated to roll out progressively via a software update releasing in September 2026. Furthermore, three of these new features—excluding “Dynamic ANC”—will also come to the budget-friendly “Pixel Buds 2a” Google Pixel Bluetooth earbuds.
Finally, the official Google online store, “Google Store,” has launched a limited-time campaign running through Friday, September 4, 2026, offering 9,200 JPY off the “Pixel Buds Pro 2” and 5,000 JPY off the “Pixel Buds 2a.”
