On Tuesday, June 2, 2026 (local time), Google began rolling out firmware version v5.203 for the “Pixel Buds Pro 2” and “Pixel Buds 2a” Bluetooth earphones.

This firmware v5.203 update for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a consists of general bug fixes and functional improvements. No new features have been announced as part of this release.

The firmware update for the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a is generally applied automatically when connected to a Google Pixel device running Android 10 or later, or any Android device running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or later that has the “Google Pixel Buds” app installed. It is also possible to trigger the update manually while connected to a device that meets these requirements.

Notably, this is the first firmware update for the “Pixel Buds Pro 2” since firmware v4.467, which was released on Thursday, September 25, 2025. For the “Pixel Buds 2a,” this is the first firmware update since its launch in October 2025.
