On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, local time, Google began rolling out the August 2026 monthly software update—which includes security vulnerability fixes and feature enhancements—for a total of 13 Google Pixel devices equipped with the new-generation Android OS “Android 17”: the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10a.
Meanwhile, the update was not released for 8 models, which include not only the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel 7a, but also the Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold. While monthly software updates have consistently been delivered to the Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold every month until now, this is the first time the update has been skipped for them.
Google has previously announced a transition to a sustainable and high-impact quarterly software update schedule for older Google Pixel devices. Starting this time, the Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold have officially become part of this targeted group of models.
