- The “Copy data” option has mysteriously disappeared from the “Google Services” settings on the new-generation Google Pixel 10 series devices.
- This feature was located under the “Pair with iPhone or iPad” setting.
- It’s a mystery why “Copy data” was removed and whether it will return.
We previously reported on this site that a new “Pair with iPhone or iPad” setting was added to the “Google Services” section on the new-generation Google Pixel 10 series devices.
This new “Pair with iPhone or iPad” setting contained the cross-platform “Transfer eSIM” feature for moving from Android to iOS, and the “Copy data” feature for transferring data between Android and iOS. However, “Copy data” has since disappeared.
Currently, only “Transfer eSIM” remains within the “Pair with iPhone or iPad” setting on the Pixel 10 series. It is a mystery why “Copy data” was removed.
Incidentally, the “Pair with iPhone or iPad” and “Transfer eSIM” (cross-platform eSIM transfer) features are currently only supported by US carriers AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, and the German carrier Telekom. This means they are not yet available in Japan.
It is expected that “Transfer eSIM” will become available in Japan depending on carrier support, but it is still unknown whether “Copy data” will be brought back.
