- Nothing has officially announced its latest Android device, the “Phone (4b),” as scheduled.
- Available in three colors—Black, White, and Blue—the device comes in two configurations: 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage.
- Given that the UK “Phone (4b)” product page notes that only the Japanese version supports eSIM, it is expected that the Japanese market release will be officially announced soon.
UK-based venture company Nothing Technology (“Nothing”) officially announced its latest Android device, the “Phone (4b),” on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, as previously teased.
The “Phone (4b)” is a derivative of the “Phone (4a)” series, positioned as a more “lite” version of the budget model, similar to how the “Phone (3a) Lite” related to the “Phone (3a).” Currently, the “Phone (4b)” will be released in the UK, Europe, and India, with sales rolling out starting Tuesday, July 14, 2026.
The “Phone (4b)” comes in three color variations: Black, White, and Blue. It is offered in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage configurations, though the 256GB model is exclusive to India. Additionally, a limited collaboration model with the professional cricket team “Royal Challengers Bangalore,” dubbed the “Phone (4b) RCB Edition,” will be available in very limited quantities in India.
While an official release for Japan has not yet been announced, the “Phone (4b)” product page on the UK site includes a mention that only the Japanese version supports eSIM, leading to the expectation that an official announcement for the Japanese model is forthcoming.

“Phone (4b)”

The “Phone (4b)” is a light-mid-range Android device that fuses the “Glyph Bar” of the “Phone (4a)” with the unibody design of the “Phone (4a) Pro,” while running “Nothing OS 4.1” out of the box. It is the first device in Nothing’s “(b)” series.
The device features Nothing’s signature transparent design and is rated IP64 for dust and water resistance. It has passed independent tests confirming it can withstand being submerged in up to 25cm of water for up to 20 minutes, offering both premium aesthetics and impressive durability for everyday use.
The “Phone (4b)” also includes the “Essential Key,” an AI-shortcut button located below the power button on the side. The “Essential Key” supports three inputs: [Single Press], [Long Press], and [Double Press]. A [Single Press] quickly saves captions from websites or images on the screen; [Long Press] triggers voice recording; and [Double Press] opens “Essential Space,” a virtual personal hub that automatically organizes saved captions and audio recordings into a catalog. The device also features “Essential Search,” which allows users to search content saved in Essential Space even when offline.

Key specifications include a 6.77-inch (2,344 × 1,080) Super AMOLED display with Dragontrail Pro Glass and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. It packs a 5,200mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging and 7.5W wired reverse charging, and comes with the latest Android 16-based “Nothing OS 4.1.”
The device supports a “RAM Booster” feature, allowing for an additional 8GB of virtual RAM (up to 16GB total). Nothing has also committed to three years of major Android OS updates and six years of security updates.
The camera setup includes a dual-rear array with a 50MP main sensor (f/1.8, OIS & EIS, 1/2.76″) and a 119.5-degree ultra-wide lens (f/2.2, 1/4″), along with a 16MP (f/2.4, 81.8-degree FOV, 1/3″) center-punch-hole front camera. The new “TrueLens Engine 4,” Ultra XDR, and 12-layer AI semantic segmentation significantly improve image quality.

Additional features include “Smart Drawer” for automatic app organization, “Private Space” to protect personal files, and “App Locker” for individual apps. It even includes an advanced liquid cooling system (vapor chamber) to maintain stability during heavy tasks and gaming.
The “Phone (4b)” is available in Black, White, and Blue. While the 256GB model is currently exclusive to India, the existence of a Japanese version with eSIM support has been confirmed.

The “Phone (4b)” from Nothing is a new addition to the “Phone” series, representing a next-generation light-mid-range model packed with powerful specs.
