Nothing Phone (3a) Lite Gets a New Blue Color

この記事のポイント

  • Nothing has officially announced the launch of its first-ever entry-level smartphone, the “Phone (3a) Lite,” in India.
  • The biggest surprise is the addition of a third new color, “Blue,” to the “Phone (3a) Lite,” which was initially announced to be available in “White” and “Black.”
  • If the Japanese version of the “Phone (3a) Lite” is once again sold exclusively by Rakuten Mobile, there’s a possibility that “Blue” will be offered as a Rakuten Mobile exclusive color.

On Thursday, November 27, 2025, British venture company Nothing Technologies Limited (Nothing) officially announced the launch of its first-ever entry-level smartphone, the “Phone (3a) Lite,” in India. The device is a new addition to the “Phone (3)” series and was officially announced on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, with sales starting in the UK and other regions.

While the “Phone (3a) Lite” is now being sold in India, the biggest surprise this time is the addition of a third new color, “Blue,” to the device, which was initially announced to be available in “White” and “Black.” Just like the “Phone (3a),” the “Phone (3a) Lite” will also be available in a third color, “Blue.”

The “Phone (3a) Lite” has not yet been released in Japan, but a Japanese domestic version of the “Phone (3a) Lite” that supports eSIM and (likely) FeliCa is planned for future release. If it is once again sold exclusively by Rakuten Mobile, the likelihood of “Blue” being offered as a Rakuten Mobile exclusive color has increased.

Additionally, the “Phone (3a) Lite” is scheduled to receive the custom OS “Nothing OS 4.0,” based on the next-generation Android OS “Android 16,” in early 2026.

Nothing Phone (3a) Lite

The “Phone (3a) Lite” is an Android smartphone from the British venture company Nothing Technologies Limited (Nothing), serving as a new lineup in the “Phone (3)” series and the brand’s first entry-level model.

Despite its name, the “Phone (3a) Lite” is characterized by inheriting the design and features of the true new flagship smartphone, the “Phone (3),” rather than being a lower-cost version of the “Phone (3a).” The body features a glass construction and is IP54 water and dust resistant. It not only offers durability but also a premium feel, despite being an entry-level model.

On the back of the device is the “Glyph Light,” a light system that evolves Nothing’s unique “Glyph Interface.” The “Glyph Light” includes features such as “Flip to Glyph” for silent notifications when the phone is face down, “Essential Notifications” to signal communications from key contacts, and “Camera Countdown” as a countdown light for group photos.

The “Phone (3a) Lite” also features the “Essential Key,” an AI-powered button introduced with the “Phone (3a),” located on the side of the device below the power button. The “Essential Key” supports three actions: a single press, a long press, and a double press. A single press quickly saves captions from websites or images on the screen, a long press records audio, and a double press opens the “Essential Space.” This virtual personal space automatically organizes and catalogs saved captions and audio recordings as a “Smart Collection.” It also includes the “Essential Search” feature, which allows you to search for content saved in the “Essential Space” even when offline.

Key specifications of the “Phone (3a) Lite” include a 6.77-inch (2,392 × 1,080) Full HD+ AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB / 256GB of internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging and 5W wired reverse charging. It runs on “Nothing OS 3.5” based on Android 15. An update to “Nothing OS 4.0,” based on the next-generation Android 16, is planned for early 2026. Furthermore, Nothing promises three years of major Android OS updates and six years of security updates from the launch date.

The camera setup consists of a rear triple camera with a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera, along with a 16MP center punch-hole front camera.

Other features include “Smart Drawer” for automatic app organization, “Private Space” to protect personal files, and “App Locker” to lock individual apps. It is also equipped with an advanced liquid cooling system for high-load processing and gaming stability.

The “Phone (3a) Lite” is available in two colors, “White” and “Black,” and comes in two models: one with 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage, and another with 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. However, a third color, “Blue,” will be available in select regions.
