Nothing consistently uses names of Pokémon from the popular game series “Pokémon” as codenames for its new products. The teaser image released this time is for “Arcanine (No. 0059).”
However, unlike the simple pixel art of the past, this one includes what appear to be names. Additionally, it features a unique color scheme rather than the original colors of “Arcanine (No. 0059),” with the text, “✨A Shiny Arcanine Appears✨.”
In fact, Nothing had already released a new product teaser based on “Arcanine (No. 0059)” back on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. This means the latest teaser image is different from the usual ones.
The mystery behind this new product teaser is quite simple. First, at Nothing, “Arcanine (No. 0059)” is the codename for the “Phone (3a),” which was announced on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Furthermore, since May 2025, Nothing has been running the “Community Edition” project, a co-creation initiative for the ultimate “Phone (3a)” between the Nothing team and selected creators. The chosen creators are Emre, Jad, Louis, Ambrogio, and Sushruta.
In other words, this new teaser image is a preview for the announcement of the “Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition.” We wonder what kind of design the “Nothing Phone (3a) Community Edition” will have.
For reference, the previous “Nothing Phone (2a) Community Edition” was sold as a limited edition of 1,000 units worldwide.
