The new “Headphone (a)” wireless headphones, announced on Thursday, March 5, 2026, by the British tech venture company “Nothing Technologies (Nothing),” have finally gone on sale today, Friday, March 13, 2026.

As the name suggests, “Headphone (a)” is an entry-level, more affordable model of the original “Headphone (1)” announced in July 2025. It comes in four color variations: Black, White, Pink, and Yellow, with “Yellow” being an exclusive limited color.

The official price for “Headphone (a)” is 27,800 yen (including tax). Please note that the limited-edition “Yellow” model will be released about a month later, on Monday, April 6, 2026.

“Headphone (a)”

“Headphone (a)” is a budget-friendly model following the “Headphone (1)” released in July 2025, designed to balance both style and musical immersion.

With a lightweight 310g design and breathable memory foam cushions, it offers all-day comfort, just like the “Headphone (1).” It also features an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance, ensuring peace of mind during workouts or in inclement weather.

For controls, it avoids the common frustrations of touch interfaces by utilizing the intuitive haptic controls—mechanical buttons, a roller, and a paddle—that were well-received on the “Headphone (1).” Additionally, it introduces new features like “Channel Hop” for instant switching between your favorite apps or functions, and a “Camera Shutter Mode” that acts as a remote for hands-free photo taking or video recording on your paired smartphone.

On the audio front, it is equipped with lightweight yet rigid 40mm titanium-coated drivers. It supports Wireless Hi-Res Audio and the LDAC codec, faithfully reproducing high-resolution sound in great detail.

The noise-canceling system features “Adaptive Active Noise Cancelling (ANC),” which adjusts in real-time based on your environment and how the headphones are worn, with three presets (Low/Medium/High) and a Transparency Mode. For calls, it uses an advanced AI algorithm trained on over 28 million noise scenarios, paired with three microphones, to ensure your voice comes through clearly even in crowded environments. Using the “Nothing X” companion app, users can create sound profiles with a professional-grade 8-band equalizer and share them with the community.

The standout feature of “Headphone (a)” is its incredible battery life, boasting up to 5 days (135 hours) of continuous playback with ANC turned off. It also supports fast charging, providing 5 hours of playback from just a 5-minute charge, offering truly overwhelming stamina.

Available in four colors: Black, White, Pink, and Yellow, with Yellow being a limited-edition variant.
