On Tuesday, June 30, 2026 (local time), Google announced a new update for the “Studio” content generation feature within its research and writing assistant tool, “NotebookLM”: support for vertical short-form video (Shorts) generation within “Video Overviews.”
Previously, while users could select formats and visual styles for “NotebookLM” Video Overviews, the generated content was limited to horizontal videos.
