On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Google announced a further rollout of “Cinematic Video Overviews,” a new feature for the Google AI “Gemini”-powered research and writing assistant tool, NotebookLM. This feature originally launched in early March 2026 for members of the “Google AI Ultra” membership, the top-tier Google One AI plan.
The “Cinematic Video Overviews” feature in NotebookLM is a major update to the “Video Overviews” capability within the “Studio” content generation tool. By combining advanced AI models—including the Google Gemini 3 AI model, the Nano Banana Pro image generation model, and the Veo 3 video generation model—it creates “video overviews” with a cinematic quality, incorporating smooth animations and unique, immersive imagery.
While “Cinematic Video Overviews” was initially launched as a premium feature exclusively for “Google AI Ultra” members, it is now being expanded to include “Google AI Pro” members as well. Please note that at this time, availability is limited to English-language environments.
