The automatic chat history saving feature in NotebookLM saves the content of your interactions with the AI within a notebook. Previously, conversations with the AI in a notebook were reset when the notebook was closed. With the rollout of this automatic saving feature, you can now resume your chat from where you left off when you reopen a notebook.
This means, for example, that you can resume a chat started on the web version of NotebookLM in the Android/iOS Google NotebookLM app, and vice versa.
The automatic chat history saving feature for NotebookLM was initially announced to be rolled out sequentially over a week, but it ultimately took about a month and a half to complete the rollout.
