On Tuesday, September 22, 2026 (local time), Motorola officially previewed its new flagship smartphone, the “motorola signature 27,” at “Snapdragon Summit 2026,” an annual event hosted by semiconductor giant Qualcomm in Hawaii, USA.
The “motorola signature 27” is the second-generation model in the series, following the “motorola signature” announced at “CES 2026” in January 2026. As Motorola’s first ultra-premium device, it adopts a new naming convention that uses the last two digits of the year following its release year. This means “27” stands for “2027.”
The “motorola signature 27” is powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip, the “Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6,” which was announced for the first time at the event. It features significant hardware and software upgrades, including a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and “Audio by B&O” through a partnership with Bang & Olufsen.
The “motorola signature 27” was merely previewed ahead of its release, and pricing and detailed specifications have not yet been disclosed. However, a global release is scheduled for sometime within 2026.
The official US Motorola website has teased further updates for November 2026. Announcements regarding a release in Japan have not been made at this time.

The “motorola signature 27” is an ultra-premium Android device equipped with Qualcomm’s top-tier processor, the “Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.”
In addition to enhanced on-device AI processing, camera experiences, and gaming performance, it delivers high-speed connectivity via multiple high-performance antennas. To sustain high processing performance, it adopts a proprietary cooling system called “ArcticMesh,” which combines a new diamond-infused thermal gel, liquid metal, a copper mesh, and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber.
The “ArcticMesh” cooling system features a mechanism that is 40% larger than the previous generation, efficiently dissipating heat even during extended AI processing, gaming, or video recording.
The rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel “Sony LYTIA 910” main sensor and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto camera also supports up to 100x “Super Zoom Pro” leveraging generative AI, allowing for detailed captures of distant subjects.
For video recording, it is equipped with the “Video Enhancement Engine,” which analyzes scenes using AI from before to during recording, automatically adjusting color tones and exposure in real time. Even in difficult lighting conditions such as concert venues, nighttime, or sunsets, users can record footage with natural colors.
Furthermore, the combination of Qualcomm’s image stabilization technology and 3.5° optical image stabilization (OIS) makes walking shots and panning videos even smoother.
On the audio front, based on a multi-year partnership with Danish luxury audio brand Bang & Olufsen, “Audio by B&O” has been adopted as the audio system for the first time on a Motorola smartphone. “Audio by B&O” provides tailored sound modes optimized for various use cases, including music, movies, gaming, and podcasts.
As for AI features, Google’s AI “Gemini” is naturally available. The “motorola signature 27” will receive 7 OS updates and up to 7 years of security updates.
The design of the “motorola signature 27” combines aerospace-grade aluminum and glass-ceramic into a slim, smooth-curved form factor. It will be available in two colors: “PANTONE Coal Smoke,” which features a tactile weave finish inspired by automobiles and sportswear to enhance grip, and “PANTONE Capulet Olive,” which features a brushed textile-like finish.
