We recently introduced on this site that the LINE Yahoo communication service “LINE” for Android has finally been updated to support Google’s in-car operating service, “Android Auto”. Now, LINE Yahoo has officially announced the Android version of the “LINE” app’s support for “Android Auto.”
The official announcement of “Android Auto” support for the Android version of the “LINE” app can be found on the official “LINE Help Center” site, specifically on the “Notification Basic Information” page. While support for “Android Auto” in the Android version of the “LINE” app had been observed in app version v15.0.653274-release and later, official support is expected to be available in the Android version of the “LINE” app v15.15.1, released in mid-September 2025.
Furthermore, the “Android Auto” feature for the Android version of the “LINE” app appears to be usable with secondary device operation, which was enabled in mid-March 2025. For instance, if your primary LINE device is an iPhone and your secondary device is an Android, you can connect the secondary Android device to an “Android Auto” compatible car navigation system/audio and use the “Android Auto” version of LINE. This is excellent news.
❗ Reference
If your main device is an iPhone and your secondary device is Android (smartphone/tablet), you can use it by linking your secondary Android device (smartphone/tablet) to Android Auto.

As we have previously introduced on this site, the primary functions of the “Android Auto” version of “LINE” are screen notifications for incoming messages, voice readouts, and quick replies while driving. Of course, notifications will only be received for chat rooms where notifications are enabled.
Additionally, if you mute notifications from the “Android Auto” version of “LINE,” you will no longer receive notifications while driving. Muting can be undone with a few taps from the “Android Auto” notification center.
In essence, the “Android Auto” version of “LINE” is less about enabling LINE conversations while driving and more about instantly informing the sender that you are currently driving. While it’s understandable that there are requirements for “Android Auto” itself, other functions are not currently implemented.
