It has also integrated Google AI “Gemini,” which began rolling out again in the United States in late November 2025.

Despite its utility, as of late December 2025, “Lens in Maps” has become unavailable on some Android devices. The “Lens in Maps” icon has disappeared from the “Google Maps” app on certain Android devices.

Around Monday, December 29, 2025, with the release of the “Google” app for Android v16.52.59 update, the missing “Lens in Maps” feature was restored.
