On Monday, March 9, 2026, Google announced the expansion of “Pomelli,” an experimental tool co-developed with its AI research division, Google DeepMind, to over 170 countries and regions. The tool was initially released as a public beta on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

The latest expansion of Pomelli includes Japan. However, since the tool currently supports English only, users in Japan will need to utilize it in English for the time being. Additionally, the tool is available to users aged 18 and older.

Google’s experimental tool, “Pomelli,” is an AI-powered generator for advertising materials. Previously, creating promotional images for new products or social media content was a time-consuming task for PR professionals, often requiring the use of visual toolkits like Canva to build from templates. With Pomelli, this process can be completed almost instantly.

To begin, users input their company’s website URL. The Pomelli AI then analyzes the site’s tone of voice, custom fonts, images, and color palette to create a “Business DNA” profile. Along with this profile, the AI generates campaign ideas and assets tailored to that unique brand identity.

From there, you can customize these campaign ideas into social media posts or advertising visuals to complete your promotional materials. Once generated, these assets can be utilized in various ways, such as for social media posts or digital advertisements.

Furthermore, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, Pomelli introduced a new feature called “Photoshoot,” which utilizes the generated “Business DNA” profile to enhance product photography, as reported on February 21, 2026. This groundbreaking “Photoshoot” feature allows users to upload product photos taken with a smartphone, select a template, and provide prompt instructions to generate professional-grade product imagery consistent with their “Business DNA” profile.

The professional-quality photos generated by this tool can also be further edited. The “Photoshoot” feature leverages the “Nano Banana” image-generation AI model.
