In the latest “Google System Release Notes” released on Monday, June 15, 2026, Google announced the introduction of a “Trust Badge” for version 51.9 of the Android “Google Play Store” app.
The “Trust Badge” introduced in the Android Google Play Store app v51.9 is a badge displayed on app reviews. It will not be applied automatically; it will appear on reviews from users who meet the criteria for the “Google Play Trusted Contributor Program” and have opted to participate.
The “Google Play Trusted Contributor Program” itself is a program that invites users who actively engage in “Google Play Community” support activities, such as consistently posting helpful, high-quality comments and app reviews. It is expected to be similar to the “Google Product Experts” program already active in official communities for various Google services.
Once invited and participating in the “Google Play Trusted Contributor Program,” users will see their profiles highlighted with a badge-bearing icon (Trust Badge), labels, and achievement levels within apps or games. Note that even after joining the program, users will have the option to toggle these badges and highlights on or off.
Information regarding the “Google Play Trusted Contributor Program” was previously revealed six months ago, in December 2025. This program has now finally officially launched.
