“Express Pay,” which is deployed on the “Google Pixel Watch” series, is a setting that enables simple tap-to-ride for NFC-based credit card transit boarding and tap-to-pay at stores. By turning this setting on in advance, users can use public transit or make store payments simply by tapping their “Google Pixel Watch” series device without needing to unlock it.
However, configuring “Express Pay” on the “Google Pixel Watch” series previously required setting it up through the “Google Pixel Watch” app on the paired host Android device.
Nevertheless, starting with Wear OS version v26.29 or later of the “Google Play services” app, users will be able to configure “Express Pay” directly from the “Google Pixel Watch” series device itself.
