On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, local time, Google began rolling out the August 2026 monthly software update—which includes routine security vulnerability fixes and functional enhancements—for a total of 13 next-generation Android OS “Android 17”-powered Google Pixel devices: the “Pixel 8,” “Pixel 8 Pro,” “Pixel 8a,” “Pixel 9,” “Pixel 9 Pro,” “Pixel 9 Pro XL,” “Pixel 9 Pro Fold,” “Pixel 9a,” “Pixel 10,” “Pixel 10 Pro,” “Pixel 10 Pro XL,” “Pixel 10 Pro Fold,” and “Pixel 10a.”
The August 2026 monthly software update released for Google Pixel devices includes updates to the Android security patch level, as well as a total of 3 bug fixes and improvements. Notably, this August 2026 update has skipped not only the “Pixel 6,” “Pixel 6 Pro,” “Pixel 6a,” “Pixel 7,” “Pixel 7 Pro,” and “Pixel 7a,” but also the “Pixel Tablet” and “Pixel Fold.” This is the first time that monthly software updates have been skipped for the “Pixel Tablet” and “Pixel Fold.”

Following the August 2026 monthly software update for Google Pixel devices, the build number will be uniformly updated to “CP2A.260805.005” across all models, and the Android security patch level will be updated to “August 5, 2026.”

Software updates for Google Pixel devices are rolled out in phases via Over-the-Air (OTA) starting today and continuing through next week. You can check if the software update is available by going to Android Settings > System > Software updates, and tapping System update.
