On Monday, August 17, 2026 local time, Google released “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9” for Google Pixel devices enrolled in the pre-release Android OS trial program, the “Android Beta Program.”
“Android 17 QPR1,” which serves as the base for “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9,” is a beta OS for the first Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) rolled out after the official release of “Android 17.” Following the release of “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1” on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 2” through “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8” have been rolled out gradually.
While the “Android Beta Program” has already transitioned to the second update group, “Android 17 QPR2,” the first update group “Android 17 QPR1” continues to be released for the “Pixel 6” and “Pixel 6 Pro,” which do not support “Android 17 QPR2.” Note that users can also apply it to Google Pixel devices from the “Pixel 6a” and later by manually flashing the publicly available “Android 17 QPR1” system image.
The newly released “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 9” includes five bug fixes.
