On Wednesday, June 10, 2026 (local time), Google announced the release of “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4” for Google Pixel devices enrolled in the “Android Beta Program,” an OS trial program for pre-release software.

“Android 17 QPR1,” which serves as the base for this version, is the beta OS for the first of the quarterly platform releases (QPR) scheduled after the official launch of “Android 17.” Following the release of “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1” on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, the second and third minor updates, Beta 2 and Beta 3, were subsequently released. Now, we have arrived at the release of Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4.

One more thing. the third beta of our Android 17 quarterly platform release (QPR1) just came out, and it contains a minor SDK release to support a few features that just couldn’t wait for QPR2.

The “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4” software update is being delivered via Over the Air (OTA) to Google Pixel devices registered in the Android Beta Program, including the Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, Fold, Tablet, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, 9 Pro Fold, 9a, 10, 10 Pro, 10 Pro XL, 10 Pro Fold, and 10a. Notably, starting from Android 17 QPR1 Beta 1, the next-generation budget-friendly Google Pixel device, the “Pixel 10a,” was also newly added to the Android Beta Program lineup.

Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4 focuses primarily on bug fixes and improvements. The following seven issues have been resolved:

■ Key Bug Fixes in “Android 17 QPR1 Beta 4” (June 2026)
  • Fixed an issue where the mouse pointer would disappear on external displays when a work profile or an app with “FLAG_SECURE” was active.
  • Fixed a crash in the Settings app that occurred when launching authentication provider settings from Private Space.
  • Fixed an issue where the screenshot shutter sound was linked to the ringer volume, making silent capture impossible while keeping notifications enabled.
  • Fixed frame drops and jitter (screen stutter) that occurred while panning during 5x zoom video recording.
  • Fixed an issue where Quick Tap (Back Tap) gestures would not function on the interactive lock screen.
  • Fixed a graphics driver regression that caused significant performance degradation in 3D OpenGL ES apps on new hardware.
  • Fixed a regression that prevented apps relying on wireless ADB or local networks from connecting.
