Google has finally launched the next generation of its budget-friendly Pixel device, the “Pixel 10a,” which was announced last month on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in the United States and other international markets today, Thursday, March 5, 2026.
Although the “Pixel 10a” carries the “Pixel 10” series branding, it is essentially a minor update to the “Pixel 9a.” It is powered by the same previous-generation “Tensor G4” processor found in the “Pixel 9” series. The device is available in four colors—Lavender, Berry, Fog, and Obsidian—and comes in 128GB and 256GB storage configurations.
The U.S. pricing is $499 and $599, respectively.
While the specific pre-order and release dates for Japan remain officially unconfirmed, a Japanese version of the “Pixel 10a” featuring FeliCa support has already been teased. However, based on certain reports, it is highly likely that pre-orders will begin on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, followed by a release on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
“Pixel 10a”

The “Pixel 10a” is the latest model in Google’s budget-friendly line, featuring the same “Tensor G4” processor as the “Pixel 9” series.
Traditionally, the “Pixel a” series has been positioned as an affordable option using the processor of the current flagship series. The “Pixel 10a” marks the first time a model in this series uses a previous-generation chip. In terms of major specifications, it feels like a minor update to the “Pixel 9a,” and unfortunately, it does not support “Pixelsnap,” the Qi2-based magnetic unit introduced with the “Pixel 10” series.
The “Pixel 10a” is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring a satin-finished 100% recycled aluminum frame and a back cover made of 81% recycled plastic. Recycled materials, including cobalt, copper, gold, and tungsten, are used in various components throughout the device.
While the “Pixel 10a” retains the same IP68 water and dust resistance as the “Pixel 9a,” its durability has been significantly improved thanks to the inclusion of Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The display is a 6.3-inch Actua screen, just like the “Pixel 9a,” but with an 11% increase in brightness.
The battery remains at 5,100mAh, offering over 30 hours of operation, but charging capabilities have been upgraded compared to the “Pixel 9a” to support up to 45W fast wired charging and 10W fast wireless charging. Google guarantees 7 years of OS and security updates from the date of release.
Another highlight of the “Pixel 10a” is that it is the first in the “Pixel a” series to support “Pixel Satellite SOS.” It also supports “Quick Share,” the short-range file transfer feature that is compatible with Apple’s “AirDrop.”

Key specifications of the “Pixel 10a” include a 6.3-inch (2,424 × 1,080) Actua display (Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, 60-120Hz refresh rate), “Tensor G4” processor, “Titan M2” security coprocessor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB/256GB of internal storage, and a 5,100mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 10W wireless charging. The device ships with Android 16.
The rear camera system consists of a 48MP wide camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. It supports up to 8x Super Res Zoom and “Macro Focus.” The front camera is a 13MP punch-hole selfie camera.
Additional features include USB Type-C 3.2, an under-display fingerprint sensor and face unlock, next-gen 5G (Sub6), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v6.0, and dual SIM support (nanoSIM + eSIM).

The “Pixel 10a” comes in four colors: “Lavender,” “Berry,” “Fog,” and “Obsidian,” with 8GB RAM + 128GB or 256GB storage options. Pricing starts at $499 and $599, respectively.
