- Google reverts the corner handles in the Google Photos “Crop” tool from circles [●] back to brackets [「」].
- This change appears to be in response to user feedback, reverting from [●] to [「」].
- Confirmed on the Android version of the Google Photos app.
On Friday, December 5, 2025, Google reverted the corner handles in the “Crop” editing tool of its online photo library service, Google Photos, from circles [●] back to brackets [「」].
The “Crop” tool in Google Photos is likely the most popular editing tool, allowing users to crop photos to any size, such as turning a landscape photo into a square. Recently, the corner handles for this tool were displayed as circles [●], but it appears Google has reverted them to brackets [「」] in response to user feedback.
This change from [●] to [「」] has been confirmed on the Android version of the Google Photos app. However, it has not yet been confirmed on the iOS version of the Google Photos app.
