“Personal Intelligence” will begin rolling out to free personal Google accounts in the U.S. starting Tuesday, March 17, 2026, initially available through “AI Mode.” It is also scheduled to be released for free within the “Gemini” app and “Gemini in Chrome” at a later date.
“Personal Intelligence” is an advanced evolution of “app integration” features, acting as a personal AI assistant that proactively provides information specifically tailored to the user. By cross-referencing personal data stored across various services—such as Gmail, Google Photos, YouTube (viewing history), and Google Search (history)—it extracts specific details and uses logic based on these sources to provide precise answers.
For example, if you have a flat tire and need a replacement, you can ask Gemini, “What are the best winter tires for my car?” The assistant will look through your past online shopping history in Gmail and identify your car’s make and model using photos from Google Photos to suggest the perfect winter tires. In short, you no longer need to manually provide vehicle specifications; the system uses your personal data to deliver the most relevant answer automatically.
