On Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Google announced a total of six new features for Android devices as part of the December 2025 “New Android Features” update.

One of these December 2025 “New Android Features” is one-tap spam reporting in the Google Messages app. For example, when you receive a group chat message from an unknown (or suspicious) number, an alert will appear allowing you to choose whether to join the group chat and reply, or to block the number and report it as spam, enabling you to act quickly.
Previously, to report a group chat message from an unknown (or suspicious) number as spam, you had to open the chat menu and select “Block & report spam.” With the rollout of one-tap spam reporting, it will be much easier to “Block & report spam.”
