Google Meet Speech Translation: Introducing Gemini 3.5 Live Translate

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026 (local time), Google officially announced “Gemini 3.5 Live Translate,” the latest audio model deployed as part of the new “Gemini 3.5” model family for the Google AI “Gemini.”

The company also announced that “Gemini 3.5 Live Translate” will be integrated into the audio translation feature of the video calling service, “Google Meet.”

By integrating “Gemini 3.5 Live Translate” into Google Meet’s audio translation feature, the number of supported languages will jump from 5 to 70. Furthermore, while the feature previously only supported translation between English and other languages, it will now enable audio translation between multiple different languages. Alongside these changes, the UI for the audio translation feature will also be updated for easier access.

The introduction of “Gemini 3.5 Live Translate” to the Google Meet audio translation feature will begin rolling out to enterprise “Google Workspace” accounts starting in June 2026, with plans to expand to general users within the same year.
