On Thursday, June 18, 2026 (local time), Google officially announced that its video calling service, “Google Meet,” is now compatible with the car operating system, “Android Auto.”
While the support for Google Meet on Android Auto had been teased in early April 2026 and confirmed to be rolling out around May 2026, this marks the official announcement of the feature.
The Android Auto version of Google Meet allows users to join scheduled video meetings or place return calls from their video call history. Note that while it is part of the Meet service, participation is limited to audio-only, meaning users will join via voice rather than video.
