- Google Japan reports that the “Quick Share” near-field sharing feature on Android devices now supports Apple’s “AirDrop.”
- The devices mentioned in the AirDrop support report are limited to the Pixel 10/Pixel 9 series and the Galaxy (Galaxy S26) series.
- For some reason, the “OPPO Find X9,” which is the fourth device to receive AirDrop support, was ignored.
On Friday, April 10, 2026, Google Japan announced that the “Quick Share” near-field sharing feature on select Android devices, primarily Google Pixel devices, now supports Apple’s “AirDrop.”
AirDrop support for Android’s “Quick Share” is not available on all Android devices. It initially launched with the “Pixel 10” series, followed by a gradual rollout to the “Pixel 9” series (excluding the Pixel 9a) and the “Galaxy S26” series. However, we must not forget OPPO’s high-spec Android device, the “OPPO Find X9.”
The “OPPO Find X9” received AirDrop support via “Quick Share” in the latest software update released around the end of March 2026.
Despite this, the list of devices mentioned in Google Japan’s latest report on AirDrop support for Quick Share only includes the Pixel 10/9 series and the Galaxy (Galaxy S26) series. For some reason, the “OPPO Find X9″—the fourth device to gain AirDrop functionality—was left out.
※AirDrop 連携対応は「Google Pixel 10」「Google Pixel 9」シリーズに加え、Galaxy を含めた Android 端末で順次拡大中です。
It would be understandable if a vast number of Android devices supported AirDrop, but for the “OPPO Find X9” to be ignored while there are still so few supported devices is quite surprising. Surely, the team at OPPO must be feeling rather disappointed.
