On Friday, October 23, 2026, local time, Google released the release notes for version v5.11 of the “Google Health” app, which has begun rolling out for Android and iOS.

The highlight of the “Google Health” app v5.11 is a significant improvement in automatic activity tracking. For users of “Fitbit Air,” “Fitbit Edge,” “Google Pixel Watch 3,” “Google Pixel Watch 4,” and “Google Pixel Watch 5,” the number of supported activities has expanded from 10 to up to 100. Additionally, leveraging contextual reasoning has doubled the accuracy of activity detection.

In addition, “Health Guardian”—a new set of health and safety features that uses AI to track subtle changes in the body in the background, such as blood pressure and insulin resistance—is rolling out for “Fitbit Air” users subscribed to the paid “Google Health Premium” membership. On the “Fitbit Air,” it supports “Vascular Stress Level,” which estimates blood pressure trends without a cuff, and “Metabolic Stress Level,” which tracks changes in insulin resistance without drawing blood, with trend reports delivered on the 1st of every month.

Furthermore, the Android and iOS versions of the “Google Health” app v5.11 include improvements to wake-up detection accuracy during sleep tracking, as well as enhanced features for deleting and editing nap records. The “Google Health” app v5.11 for Android and iOS will roll out gradually over the course of a week starting today.

New “Health Guardian” Features for “Fitbit Air”
  • “Health Guardian” has begun rolling out for “Fitbit Air” users subscribed to “Google Health Premium.” The first monthly health summary will arrive in early November 2026.
  • “Vascular Stress Level”: Understand blood pressure patterns before strain is placed on the heart. If worn continuously for 5 or more days during October 2026, it will appear in the “Health Guardian” section of the “Health” tab.
  • “Metabolic Stress Level”: Track monthly changes in metabolic health. Available if worn for 7 or more days (both day and night) during October 2026.
Major Improvements to Automatic Activity Tracking
  • Supports smarter and higher-precision automatic activity tracking.
  • Available on “Fitbit Air,” “Google Pixel Watch 3,” “Google Pixel Watch 4,” and “Google Pixel Watch 5,” and will also be available on the “Fitbit Edge” launching on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.
  • The range of detectable activities has significantly expanded from 10 to up to 100 types (including strength training, swimming, racket sports, and team sports).
  • Contextual reasoning using workout routines and history has doubled detection accuracy and halved missed recordings. Workouts that last for 15 minutes or more by default and feature an elevated heart rate are automatically recorded.
Additional Options for Blood Glucose Tracking
  • The name has been changed throughout the app from “Blood glucose” to “Glucose.”
  • You can now set custom Time-in-Range targets for data from connected continuous glucose monitors (CGMs).
  • Direct integration with “Lingo by Abbott” is supported exclusively in the US, allowing data to be quickly synced to the “Google Health” app within 30 minutes of measurement.
Improvements to Sleep Tracking
  • By incorporating step data, short periods of wakefulness—such as getting up to use the restroom—can now be tracked more accurately.
  • “Nap” records can now be easily deleted or edited directly from the card.
