On Thursday, May 21, 2026 (JST), “YouTube Premium Lite” became available as a new benefit for “Google AI Pro” members, generating significant buzz.
But that is not all. Starting Wednesday, May 27, 2026 (JST), “Fitbit Premium,” the subscription service for Fitbit devices, has been rebranded as “Google Health Premium” and is now available as a benefit for “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” memberships. “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” members should have received a DM titled “Google Health Premium is now included in Google One.”
At the same time, if you were previously subscribed to “Fitbit Premium,” you should have received a DM titled “Your Google Play refund has been approved,” confirming your transition to “Google Health Premium” and the processing of your refund.
While the original “Fitbit Premium” cost 680 yen (tax included) per month ($9.99 in the U.S.), the revamped “Google Health Premium” is priced at 1,580 yen (tax included) per month ($15.99 in the U.S.), which is more than double the price in Japan. For the annual plan, it is 15,800 yen (tax included; $159.99 in the U.S.).
However, alongside the rebranding of “Fitbit Premium” to “Google Health Premium,” the service has been added as a benefit for “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” memberships. In other words, while the standalone price of “Google Health Premium” has more than doubled, it is essentially free for members of “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra.”
The “Google AI Pro” membership is 2,900 yen (tax included) per month, and adding “Google Health Premium” as a free perk makes it a significant value. Plus, as mentioned earlier, “YouTube Premium Lite” is also included for free.
“Google Health Premium” is a subscription service designed to fully utilize the features of “Google Health Coach,” the rebranded version of the previously public preview feature “Personal Health Coach.” While you can still access basic functions like activity tracking, sleep tracking, and health management without a “Google Health Premium” subscription, you will not have access to the AI-driven analysis and the “Ask Coach” AI conversation feature, which are the hallmarks of “Google Health Coach.”
