  • The “Google Health” social media account has posted what is likely a teaser for a new product announcement.
  • With the message “Get an Edge on your health. 10.12.26,” it hints at a new product announcement scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2026.
  • This is likely the “Fitbit Edge” (tentative name), the successor to the “Fitbit Charge” series that has been rumored for some time.

On Friday, October 9, 2026 local time, the social media account for Google’s health management service, “Google Health,” posted what appears to be a teaser for an upcoming new product announcement.

The teaser features the phrase “Get an Edge on your health. 10.12.26,” foreshadowing a new product announcement for early next week on Monday, October 12, 2026. It also includes an enlarged image of the new product.

This is likely the long-rumored “Fitbit Edge” (tentative name), the successor to the “Fitbit Charge” series.

The “Fitbit Edge” (tentative name) is a band-style fitness tracker featuring an oval display, positioned between the Google Pixel smartwatch “Google Pixel Watch 5” and the screenless wearable tracker “Fitbit Air.” Equipped with a display, it supports app operations and features unavailable on the “Fitbit Air,” such as viewing smartphone notifications, controlling apps like “Google Maps” and “YouTube Music,” and using the “Find My Device” function.

On the other hand, unlike the “Google Pixel Watch 5,” it will not support adding apps from the “Google Play Store,” making it a device strictly focused on fitness purposes. It will be compatible with iOS as well as Android.

Fitness-related features for the “Fitbit Edge” (tentative name) include GPS, altitude measurement via an altimeter, and automatic activity recognition. Its battery life is up to 7 days, the same as the “Fitbit Air,” offering significantly longer endurance compared to the 30 to 40 hours of the “Google Pixel Watch 5.”

The device features slim buttons on both sides, with sensors and a band-swapping attachment mechanism on the back. It will be available in three color variations—”Obsidian,” “Olive,” and “Canyon”—matching the color lineup of the “Pixel 11 Pro.”
