The new “Follow” feature for the content curation service “Google Discover,” which was announced by Google on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, and initially rolled out primarily in the United States, has finally arrived in Japan.
The “Follow” feature for Google Discover appears to have officially launched in Japan on Monday, March 23, 2026. I have confirmed that the “Follow” feature is now active in Google Discover within the Google app on both Android and iOS across all of my Google accounts.
The Google Discover “Follow” feature allows users to follow publishers and creators, such as websites and YouTube channels, using the “Follow” button displayed within Google Discover. By following them, the latest content from those publishers and creators will appear more frequently in your Google Discover feed.
So, if you happen to see our site, “Jetstream (jetstream.blog),” on Google Discover, please consider hitting that “Follow” button!

If you wish to unfollow someone in Google Discover, you can do so by tapping the [︙ (three-dot menu)] on the content card and selecting “Unfollow.” Additionally, you can manage your followed publishers under “Following” within the “Customize Discover” settings in the Google app.
