On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, Google officially released the “Google” app for Microsoft’s “Windows” PC OS, which was initially released experimentally through the “Search Labs” early-access program, to English-speaking users worldwide.

The officially released “Google” app for Windows features a search bar that can be summoned by pressing [Alt + Space] simultaneously, allowing you to search local files, installed apps, Google Drive, and the web. While the app is primarily centered around its AI-powered “AI Mode,” it also includes integrated support for “Google Lens.”

Although the official release is aimed at English-speaking regions and the interface is displayed entirely in English, it is possible to install and use the app in a Japanese environment. The “AI Mode” also recognizes Japanese input accurately and provides responses in Japanese.
