On Thursday, September 3, 2026 local time, Google finally began rolling out the voice features announced at the developer conference “Google I/O 2026” held in May 2026, bringing “Gmail Live,” “Docs Live,” and “Keep Live” to the Google Workspace groupware services Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Keep.
“Gmail Live,” “Docs Live,” and “Keep Live” are features equivalent to “Gemini Live” and “Search Live” running within each respective service. They are being rolled out sequentially for “Google AI Plus,” “Google AI Pro,” and “Google AI Ultra” memberships, as well as “Google Workspace” business accounts.
“Gmail Live”
“Gmail Live” is a feature that allows you to ask for the inbox information you need by voice and receive spoken answers in return.
By asking questions such as “What is my boarding gate number for today’s flight?” or “What events does my child’s school have this week?”, it searches for the relevant information within your inbox and responds via voice.
“Docs Live”
“Docs Live” is a feature that assists you in creating first drafts using only your voice.
By talking with “Docs Live,” it helps you organize your thoughts, structure your documents, and extract relevant information from Gmail, Google Drive, Google Chat, and the web to support your document creation.
“Keep Live”
“Keep Live” is a feature that allows you to save ideas and notes that pop into your head simply by speaking them.
It goes beyond simply transcribing your speech into text by organizing what you said and converting it into notes or list-style notes.
