A new setting called “Media watermarks” has been introduced in the Google AI “Gemini” app, allowing users to toggle watermarks ON or OFF for image generation (Nano Banana), video generation (Gemini Omni), and music generation (Lyria).
Previously, watermarks were automatically and forcibly added to image, video, and music generation in the Gemini app, but they can now be disabled using the “Media watermarks” setting. This “Media watermarks” setting is being rolled out globally, except in countries where retaining them is required by law.
We have also confirmed the rollout in Japan. However, at this time, it is available on the web version of the Gemini app.
