On Friday, July 16, 2026, Google announced that it has brought “Gemini Spark,” its personal AI agent, to “Google AI Pro” members in the United States, following its expansion to “Google AI Ultra” members in regions like Japan earlier that day.
“Gemini Spark” was initially launched for “Google AI Ultra” members in the U.S. and subsequently expanded to the same membership tier in regions outside the U.S., including Japan. Now, the rollout has begun for “Google AI Pro” members in the U.S. It is anticipated that access to “Gemini Spark” will likely be extended to “Google AI Pro” members in other regions as well in the future.
“Gemini Spark” is a personal AI agent built on “Google Antigravity,” a next-generation autonomous AI programming environment developed by Google. It allows for tasks to be executed in the background, even while your PC is closed or your smartphone is locked. By integrating with Google Workspace tools such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets, it can handle complex workflow automation and task scheduling. For example, it can automatically analyze your monthly credit card statements to detect wasteful spending, consolidate meeting notes scattered across emails and chats into a single Google Doc, and even draft email replies on your behalf.
In conjunction with this expansion, Gemini Spark’s integration with Google Workspace services has been enhanced. New capabilities include editing Google Sheets and Slides files, reading aloud comments in Sheets and Slides, editing shared Docs, Sheets, and Slides files, adding images to Docs and Slides, and editing/revising Google Docs using the “Canvas” tool. Additionally, the overall speed of Gemini Spark itself has been increased by more than 50%.
