  • Google announces the expanded rollout of its personal AI agent, “Gemini Spark.”
  • The rollout extends to all regions where the “Gemini” app is supported, excluding the EU, UK, Nigeria, and Switzerland.
  • “Gemini Spark” is now finally available in Japan and supports the Japanese language.

On Wednesday, July 15, 2026 (local time), Google announced the expansion of “Gemini Spark,” a personal AI agent that was officially unveiled two months ago at the developer event “Google I/O 2026” and initially launched for “Google AI Ultra” members in the United States.

“Gemini Spark” is being rolled out to all regions where the “Gemini” app is supported, with the exception of the EU, the UK, Nigeria, and Switzerland. Along with this expansion, the service now supports the languages of these newly added regions.

In other words, “Gemini Spark” is finally available for use in Japan and in Japanese. Of course, at this stage, it remains limited to “Google AI Ultra” membership holders.

Furthermore, in conjunction with this expansion, integration with “Google Workspace” services has been enhanced. New capabilities include editing “Google Sheets” and “Google Slides” files, reading aloud “comments” in “Google Sheets” and “Google Slides,” editing shared “Google Docs,” “Google Sheets,” and “Google Slides” files, adding images to “Google Docs” and “Google Slides,” and editing/revising “Google Docs” using the “Canvas” tool. Additionally, “Gemini Spark” itself is reportedly over 50% faster.

Additionally, Josh Woodward (@joshwoodward), head of the Google AI “Gemini” app, has hinted that “Gemini Spark” will also be coming to “Google AI Pro” memberships in the future.

“Gemini Spark” is a personal AI agent based on “Google Antigravity,” a next-generation autonomous AI programming environment developed by Google. It can perform tasks in the background even when your PC is closed or your smartphone is locked. Integrated with “Google Workspace” tools such as “Gmail,” “Google Docs,” and “Google Sheets,” it can automatically analyze monthly credit card statements to detect wasteful spending, consolidate meeting notes scattered across emails and chats into “Google Docs,” and even automatically generate email drafts, effectively automating complex workflows and managing schedules for ongoing tasks.
