On Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (local time), Google announced the integration of “Deep Research,” a comprehensive report-generating AI model, into “Gemini Live,” the intuitive conversational feature of the Google AI “Gemini” app.
With “Deep Research” in “Gemini Live,” you can request an investigation through “Deep Research” during your conversation with “Gemini Live,” which then initiates the research asynchronously in the background. You will be notified once the report is ready, allowing you to lock your screen or engage in other “Gemini” chats until then.
Of course, you can also ask follow-up questions about the report results or request further adjustments.
“Deep Research” in “Gemini Live” begins rolling out starting the day of the announcement.
