On Monday, September 29, 2025, Google announced it will upgrade the image generation AI model in “Gemini in Google Slides” (the Google AI integration for the Google Workspace presentation service, Google Slides) and “Google Vids” (a Gemini-powered video creation assistant) to the “Nano Banana” image editing AI model.
“Nano Banana” is the most powerful image editing AI model available today, capable of high-precision image composition and generation. By upgrading the image generation AI model in “Gemini in Google Slides” and “Google Vids” to “Nano Banana,” users will be able to create presentations and videos with higher-quality images.
In addition, coinciding with the “Nano Banana” upgrade for “Gemini in Google Slides” and “Google Vids,” a new option for editing images with custom prompts has also been released.
Please note that “Gemini in Google Slides” and “Google Vids” are features available to Google Workspace business accounts and members of the “Google AI Pro” and “Google AI Ultra” plans for Google One. These features are not available to general Google users.
